Scholarships that are available to Soldiers and Family members that are currently or have ever served in the 160th.
Special Operations Fund-The Scowcroft Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA. It's $10,000 a year for 4 years and is open to the child of any Soldier that is currently or has ever served in the 160th. Request applications via email to nsf.scholarship160@gmail.com
Special Operations Fund-The Vocational School, Technical School, and Community College (VOTECH) Scholarship to provide students with an opportunity to compete for a merit-based scholarship up to $5,000, limited to two years, to support their studies at vocational schools, career or technical institutions, and community colleges. This Scholarship is open to the family members of any Soldier that is currently or has ever served in the 160th. Request applications via email to nsf.scholarship160@gmail.com
Special Operations Fund-The David C. Miller Jr. Fellowship is a $20,000 fellowship awarded for up to two years. This Scholarship is open to the family members of any Soldier that is currently or has ever served in the 160th. Candidates must have graduated from college or graduate school within three years. Consideration is based on a Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, academic honors, and demonstrated career interest in government, military, Foreign Service, national security, or public service. The purpose of the Fellowship is to allow a student with an outstanding academic record to pursue an international program connected with an organization, agency, educational institution, or non-government organization (NGO). The object of the Fellowship is to provide a unique learning experience which will allow the recipient to live in and come to understand another culture while advancing their foreign language skills. Special Operations Fund- The David C. Miller Jr. Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship for participation in an accredited course of study or an internship sponsored from either a college or university, a non-governmental charitable organization, a business, or an agency. Consideration is based on a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, academic honors, scholarship, proposal, and demonstrated career interest in government, military, Foreign Service, national security, or public service. Special Operations Fund-The Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter) Summer School program is a five-week summer school for high school students who will be entering their junior or senior year following summer school. This is a $10,000 scholarship which includes student and one parent’s travel to and from Exeter, New Hampshire. This Scholarship is open to the family members of any Soldier that is currently or has ever served in the 160th. Request applications via email to nsf.scholarship160@gmail.com
AAAA Scholarship Foundation, Pre-Qualifying Form opens on September 15th and closes on December 15th. To apply for an AAAA Scholarship you must first complete and submit the Pre-Qualifying Form. You will be asked to provide the AAAA member's ID# on the form. Once submitted you will receive an email within one week notifying you of your eligibility. If eligible, the email will contain a link to the Scholarship Application Form. If you wait to submit your pre-qualifying form until one week prior to the December 15 deadline, we cannot guarantee that you will receive the link to the application. Click Link here.
AUSA (Association of the United States Army) Scholarship, AUSA Premium Members, Association Members, and their dependents (to include children, spouses, and grandchildren) are eligible to apply. Applications are open from February to May. Please verify your membership on the application form to expedite the application process. The Screaming Eagle Foundation Scholarship, Applicant’s parents, grandparents, great grandparents, husband, or wife is (or if deceased, was) a regular or life member (not an associate member) of the 101st Airborne Division Association. Applicant shall not be attending nor accepted as a student to the United States Military Academy, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, or the USCG Academy Chappie Hall Scholarship – Applicants must maintain a 3.0 or better. Al & Willamary Viste Scholarship – Applicant must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.75 or better (transcript required). Applicants must be either an upperclassman (3rd or 4th year) or graduate student in a medical or science field. Patriot Military Family Foundation Scholarship, North Carolina service members and their families are eligible for four-year scholarships offered in partnership with the We Care Foundation. Recipients must attend a North Carolina State college or university. Fisher House Scholarship, The Selection Process Recipients are selected based on the following criteria: Academic achievement, Participation in school, community and volunteer activities, Work experience, An essay. Fold of Honor Scholarship, Applications are accepted each year between February 1 and March 31. If March 31 falls on a weekend, the deadline date will be extended to the close of the first business day following March 31. Scholarship awards are up to $5,000…not to exceed $2,500 (minimum payment of $100) per term. If, after submitting a check in it is determined that the awardee has an unmet need of less than $2,500, Folds of Honor will only disburse the student’s actual unmet need, based on their school account balance. Remaining funds will be retained by Folds of Honor and may be utilized by the student at another payment term within the same academic year. Joint Special Operation Association Scholarship, The JSOA administers three scholarships: The Merit Scholarship, the Wounded Patriot Scholarship, and the North Carolina Patriot Scholarship in partnership with the Patriot Foundation. The scholarships have different funding sources and eligibility criteria. The Merit and Wounded Patriot Scholarships are awarded once per year. Applicants that fill out the JSOA scholarship application who are qualified for the North Carolina Patriot Scholarship awarded twice per year – in Spring and Fall – will be notified via email to fill out a supplemental application on the Patriot Foundation website when it becomes available. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, Who can apply. Children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001. Children of post-9/11 veterans having been assigned a combined disability rating of 50 percent or greater by the Department of Veterans Affairs also qualify. Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for Dependent Children, Scholarship Details The Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for Dependent Children is based on applicants’ financial needs and was established to assist children of Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degrees. Applicants may receive assistance for up to four academic years of full-time study but must meet eligibility criteria and reapply each year.
